The Wools of New Zealand Contractwool^TM brand was launched in 1995 as part of a segmentation strategy for wool carpets and furnishing fabrics. The beauty, durability and environmental benefits of Contractwool^TM carpets make them a welcome addition to offices, leisure facilities, restaurants, hotels, retail spaces and transit systems.

Contractwool^TM is always used in combination with the Wools of New Zealand brand and indicates that the product meets fundamental requirements which are related to durability, appearance retention, colour fastness and fibre content. The tests carried out will ensure that the products are able to withstand the high demands of contract environments.

Most Contractwool^TM carpets carry end-use location guidance - ie. a Medium, Heavy or Extra Heavy Duty Contract (Commercial) classification. Appropriate carpets may also be labelled as suitable for use on stairs and/or for use with castor chairs.
